Connect Slack

Send Hourari's weekly cost digest and meeting alerts to Slack, choose where they go, and control who sees the costs.

Connect Slack

  1. Open Settings → Integrations and choose Slack.
  2. Approve the Hourari app for your Slack workspace.
  3. Under Where reports go, pick a destination: a Direct message to you, or a public channel.
  4. Under What Hourari posts, choose what to receive.

Slack is included on the Team, Business and Enterprise plans. What Hourari asks Slack for, and why, is listed on the Slack integration page.

What Hourari posts

Each of these has its own switch:

  • Weekly cost digest — the week's total cost, hours and meetings, and the five most expensive, on the day and time you choose. Times are in UTC.
  • Before an expensive meeting — a heads-up ahead of any meeting over a cost you set, between 15 minutes and 2 hours before it starts.
  • Budget thresholds — a message when meeting spend reaches 50%, 80% and 100% of your monthly budget.
  • Daily summary — the day's meeting spend, each evening.

Three presets set the switches for you: Weekly digest only, Digest and alerts, and Everything. Pause everything stops all of them without losing your choices.

Acting from Slack

Alerts carry buttons, so a meeting can be dealt with without opening Hourari — for example, declining it. A decline from Slack sends a real decline from your own connected Google or Outlook calendar.

Who sees the costs

A direct message shows you everything. In a channel, only totals are shown until you turn on Show costs in this channel. While it is on, everyone in that channel sees what each meeting costs — including people Hourari itself hides those figures from — and a note beside the switch says so.

Hourari only posts. It does not read messages in your workspace, and it never lists private channels.

Disconnect

Disconnecting Slack in Settings → Integrations revokes Hourari's access with Slack.
