Agenda firewallBusiness plan and up

Expensive meetings with no agenda get questioned

Set a cost threshold once. Any meeting over it with nothing in the invite gets a message to the organizer asking for an agenda, and, closer to the time, each invitee gets the option to step out. Nothing is ever cancelled for you.

Sample data. Your numbers come from your own calendar.

How the ladder works

Two messages, in the right order

The organizer is asked first, while there is still time to write an agenda. Only if the invite is still empty near the start are the invitees offered a way out, because by then their time is what can still be saved.

Hourari checks every 30 minutes. The moment an agenda appears in the invite, the meeting is off the ladder.

  1. Booked

    Over the threshold, no agenda

$1,240 for 9 people, and the description is empty.

  2. 24 hours before

    The organizer is asked

A direct message asks for an agenda while there is still time to write one.

  3. 2 hours before

    Invitees get the choice

Still no agenda, so each invitee is offered a one-tap decline of their own.

  4. Starts

    The meeting goes ahead

For everyone who stays. Hourari never cancels it or removes anyone.

Add an agenda at any point and the meeting drops off the ladder. Nothing more is sent about it.

The organizer is asked for an agenda

A direct message with the meeting, how many are invited and what it costs, plus buttons to shorten it or open it in Hourari.

Invitees can step out in one tap

Declining sends a real RSVP from their own calendar, and the organizer is told. Staying is just as easy: ignore the message.

What it gives back

Every seat someone steps out of counts as a saving

A decline taken from the firewall's message is the same decline as anywhere else in Hourari. The person's time comes off the meeting's cost straight away and shows up under declined seats in your savings, your reports and the Monday digest.

The average is only for the sum: each declined seat is priced at that person's own rate. The meeting still goes ahead for the other 7.

Three settings, one rule

A threshold, when to ask the organizer and when to offer the decline. The sample rule here flags meetings of $500 or more. Owners and admins set it.

What counts as an agenda

Any real text in the invite's description. A Teams join link on its own does not count, and meetings marked private are never flagged.

Firm about the agenda, careful with everything else

Messages only

The firewall never cancels, declines or edits a meeting. People decide; Hourari only asks the question.

In Slack

Messages arrive as Slack direct messages. If Slack is not connected, the settings card says so rather than staying quiet.

One person at a time

Both messages go to one person directly, never to a shared channel where a decline button would mean nothing.

Costs only for those who may see them

The figure in a message follows your cost visibility settings. Someone who cannot see costs gets the same nudge without it.

Every action on the record

The Automations page lists the rule and a log of what it did: who was asked, and how many were offered a decline.

No flood on day one

Turn it on with a full calendar and messages go out ten meetings at a time, most expensive first.

Meeting rules before sending

Also on Business: rules for meetings planned in Hourari, such as too many people or no agenda, with a note before you schedule.

Stop paying for meetings nobody planned
