Hear about it before the month runs over

Set a monthly budget for meeting spend. Hourari counts every priced meeting against it, alerts at the thresholds you choose, and warns the owner while the month is only on pace to go over, while there is still time to change it.

How budgets work

The early warning

A forecast, not a post-mortem

Most budget alerts arrive when the money is already spent. Hourari also looks ahead: what has been spent so far, plus the meetings already booked for the rest of the month, projected to its last working day.

Here, $7,140 is spent and $3,860 is booked, which puts the month on pace for $12,480 against a $12,000 budget. The owner hears that now, not at the end of the month. It is on by default and can be switched off.

Team budgets, shown as a percentage

On the Business plan, where teams live, the owner sets a budget per team. Admins and team leads who can see costs follow progress as a share of it, never the amount, so nobody can work out a team's pay.

Time, not just money

A weekly meeting hours target

Not every workspace shows costs. Owners and admins can set the most hours of meetings a week they would like each person to have, and everyone sees their own week against it on Overview.

It counts meetings they organize or are invited to, including the ones still to come this week, and leaves out the ones they declined. It sends no alerts and changes no calendar.

Your meeting hours this week

Each person sees their own hours from Monday to Sunday. Owners and admins see how many people are over the target, as a number.

Spend controls, on the Business plan

A policy that acts when a limit is crossed: notify the organizer, ask for a justification, or flag their most expensive upcoming meetings for an admin to approve. It records and notifies; it never cancels a meeting.

Who sets what, and who sees it

Owners and admins set budgets

Owners and admins each have their own monthly budget, set in Settings under Budgets.

An annual budget the owner signs

The yearly meeting budget and team budgets belong to the owner: only they can set, change, approve or remove them.

Percentages protect pay

Anyone else following a team or annual budget sees the share used. The amount and the spend together would reveal salaries.

Email or Slack

Alerts arrive by email, and in Slack when it is connected. Each person can turn budget emails off in their own notification settings.

Team warnings go to the team

A team budget’s early warning goes to the people who get that team’s budget alerts.
