See whether meeting spend is going up or down

Meeting costs creep: one more person here, fifteen more minutes there. Each week looks like the last, and the year does not. Hourari keeps the running totals, names the meetings that moved them, and tells you where the month is heading.

Sample data. Your numbers come from your own calendar.

Month by month

Six months on one line, and where this one lands

The last six months of meeting spend, side by side, with this month projected to its end. The forecast is what has been spent, plus what is already booked, plus the meetings not booked yet at the pace the month has run so far.

The dashed line is the three-month average, so a month that is merely normal does not look like a trend.

What moved it

Every change has a name next to it

A total that fell is only useful if you know why. The monthly report sets this month against last and names the series that moved it: which meetings are new, which ended, and which got bigger or smaller. Here, the month fell because a vendor sync ended and a design review got shorter.

What changed vs last month

$13,595→$12,480−$1,115 this month

Cost came offCost was added
  • Vendor sync · ended−$1,040
  • Design Review · reduced−$304
  • Hiring panel · new+$280
  • Q4 Planning · increased+$240
  • Everything else−$291

New, ended, increased and reduced series are named, and everything else is one line, so the changes always add up to the difference between the two months.
